🟥🟩 Red and Green — a game to test your reaction time
This is a minimalist yet extremely precise reaction game designed to measure how quickly you can respond to a sudden change under conditions of complete simplicity. It requires high concentration, patience, and precision — all without unnecessary distractions.
It looks simple: you see a red square that, after a random interval (from 3 to 10 seconds), suddenly turns green. At that moment, you need to click it as fast as possible. The faster — the better the result.
📋 How the game works
- Start. When launched, a red square appears with a text message telling you to click when the square turns green.
- Waiting. A pause of 3 to 10 seconds follows. This time is chosen randomly each round to eliminate predictability.
- The green color appears. When the square turns green, timing begins — from the moment the color changes until your click.
- Result. After you click, your result is shown in milliseconds, along with a star rating from 1 to 5 that corresponds to your speed.
- Early click. If you click before the green color appears, nothing is counted. The phrase “Too early” is displayed, and the game offers to start over. In this sense, the game is similar to “Repeat the Rhythm”.
⭐ Reaction rating
The game results don’t just show the time — they classify your speed on a 5-point scale expressed through stars:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — lightning-fast reaction, worthy of an esports pro;
⭐⭐⭐⭐ — excellent reaction, better than most;
⭐⭐⭐ — average result, you’re still fine;
⭐⭐ — below average, but not critical — maybe you were just distracted;
⭐ — a turtle’s reaction during a siesta. But that can be fixed.
🧪 Why it’s worth trying
- Attention testing. It’s not only about speed — it’s about self-control. You need not just to be fast, but also to be able to wait, and that’s much harder.
- Minimal distractions. Just you, the square, and your impatience. Perfect for a clean test without extra stimuli.
- Clear result. Fast feedback, both visual and numeric. You’ll see your result immediately.
- Suitable for all ages. Adults and kids alike can benefit — everyone will find something to improve.
- Convenient on all devices. The game adapts to the screen; no keyboard required — mouse or tap, everything works.
